Medical Education Unit
The Institute has actively functioning Medical Education Unit for Faculty Development since 2009 and now it is functioning under the Chairmanship of Dr Manjit Singh Uppal, Director-Principal. Dr. Aruna Aggarwal was the Convener of the Faculty Development Programmes from 2009 to 2014. From 2014, Dr. Sahiba Kukreja is the Co-ordinator of Medical Education Unit. Regular workshops are being conducted by the faculty of Medical Education Unit of the institute. The faculty of Medical Education Unit is constituted by 5 faculty members being FAIMER fellows (Dr. Meenakshi Gupta, Dr. Punita Salwan, Dr. Richa Ghay Thaman, Dr. Sahiba Kukreja, Dr. Manmeet Kaur). Ten Faculty Members of Medical Education Unit have undergone FIME Training from CMC Ludhiana (Dr. Sahiba Kukreja, Dr. Sukhjinder Kaur, Dr. Vanita Sareen, Dr. Monika Lalit Piplani, Dr. Kanika Sachdeva, Dr. Manmeet Kaur, Dr. Neha, Dr. Amandeep Kaur, Dr. Anju Gill, Dr. Preeti Malhotra). Six Basic Course Workshops have been conducted under Medical Education Unit Since 2009 to 2015 in which 136 faculty members have been trained in this institute under the observership of observers deputed by Medical Council of India. Besides this three In-house faculty development programs have been conducted. During these training programmes, teaching and learning is achieved by interactive and healthy discussions. Innovative and new strategies are adopted to restructure the teaching methods.
