Dr. Ruchi Gupta  did MBBS (1986) from GMC, Amritsar and MD (1991) from GMC, Patiala. She passed  DNB in 1997. She worked as  faculty at CMC Ludhiana and PGIMS Rohtak before joining sgrduhs in 2006, and is presently  Professor and Head, Department of Anaesthesiology, Pain Medicine and Critical Care.  She received Fellowship of Indian Academy of Pain Medicine (FIAPM) and Fellowship in Palliative care in 2020. She has been a visiting Fellow in Pain Medicine at AIIMS Delhi, USA and London. She has a Diploma in Internet Marketing and Diploma in American Board of Aesthetic Medicine from USA.

She has organized 9 Zonal and National conferences. She has presented 100 papers in National and International conferences with 21 guest lectures and has chaired 28 sessions. She has guided 43 research projects, authored 67 National and  International publications, and is a reviewer of esteemed journals. She has been an external examiner and paper setter for many universities.

She has been President NZ ISA 2007-8, President ISA Amritsar 2007-8, Vice President NZ ISA 2004-5 and NAPCAIM 2020-1, and  General Secretary ISA Amritsar 2003-5. She is a life member of  Indian Society of Study of Pain (ISSP), Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists (ISA), Indian Association of Paediatric Anaesthesiologists (IAPA), Asian Society of Paediatric Anaesthesiologists (ASPA), Research Society of Anaesthesiology and Clinical Pharmacology (RSACP), Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine (ISCCM) and NAPCAIM. She is an annual member of International Association of Study of Pain (IASP) and World Institute of Pain (WIP)

Her areas of interest are pain medicine, paediatric anaesthesia, airway management, regional anaesthesia, ACLS and BLS.

Dr. Sunil Chawla did MBBS (1987) from Jiwaji University, Gwalior and MD (1991) in Anaesthesia from the Jiwaji University, Gwalior. He joined sgrduhs as Assistant Professor in 2000 and is presently Professor in the Department of Anaesthesiology.

His special areas of interest are Critical Care.

Dr Anita Kumari did her MBBS and MD in Anesthesiology from Govt. Medical College, Patiala. She did her senior residency from GMCH-32 Chandigarh and joined the Department of Anesthesia at sgrduhs as Assistant Professor in 2006. Presently, she is Professor of Anesthesiology.  She also serves as departmental library incharge since 2006.

She presided over as nodal officer for diploma and BSc OTT/ BSc Anesthesia courses and was programme coordinator to train PCMS MBBS doctors for anaesthesia skills under NRHM project. She also presided over as programme coordinator to train OT/ICU staff according to NABH curriculum.

 Dr Anita has presented paper /poster/chaired sessions in various conferences. She has completed 12 research projects and 5 are ongoing. She has 25 National Publications in indexed journals. She has organized various CME, workshops, national conferences in the department as organizing secretary. She is a life member of IMA, ISA, RSACP and ISCCM.

 She has special interest in Paediatric Anesthesia and Critical Care Medicine.

Dr Lakshmi Mahajan did her MBBS (2001) and MD (2007) in Anaesthesia from GMCH, Chandigarh. She joined sgrduhs as senior resident and is presently Associate Professor of Anesthesia.

She had been on a panel of external examinations of BSc nursing exams. She has attended many national and regional conferences and workshops and has delivered three guest lectures.

Dr Mahajan has been secretary of ISA Amritsar city branch. She has six publications in indexed journals. She is a life member of several societies and associations like ISA, RSACPCON. She has been working as covid frontline warrior during this Corona pandemic.

She has special interest in critical care and trauma.

Dr Chiteshwar Singh Walia did MBBS (2000) from BFUHS
and MD (2007) in Anaesthesia from Manipal University. He is presently Associate Professor of Anaesthesia at SGRDIMSAR.

Dr Geetanjali Pushkarna did MBBS (2002) and MD (2008) in Anaesthesiology from Government Medical College, Amritsar. She joined sgrduhs as senior resident and is presently Associate Professor of Anesthesiology.

She has special interest in simulation-based learning programmes and in imparting life saving skills as a part of BLS, ACLS Training as an AHA certified instructor. She has 4 Publications in national & international journals.

Dr Geetanjali is a member of  Indian society of Anaesthesiologists (ISA), Research Society of Anaesthesiology and Clinical Pharmacology (RSACP), Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine (ISCCM) and Airway Management Foundation.

Areas of her interest include difficult airway management, paediatric anaesthesia, critical care medicine and  conscious sedation for children and elderly.

Dr. Shubhdeep Kaur MBBS (2001) from University of Rajasthan and MD (2007) in Anaesthesia from Rajasthan University of Health Sciences. She joined sgrduhs as a Senior Resident in 2007 and is presently Associate Professor of Anaesthesiology.

She is an AHA certified BLS/ACLS instructor and is the co-coordinator of SGRD AHA Training Site, which conducts AHA accredited BLS/ACLS courses for interns, postgraduate students, faculty and paramedical staff. She has conducted numerous workshops on CPR and airway management as an instructor and has delivered guest lectures in national and state conferences.

Dr Shubhdeep has played a key role in the set up and organisation of the Skill Lab at sgrduhs, and takes active interest in the conduct of simulation based teaching and training. She successfully completed the EuSim Simulation Instructor Course, Level 1 conducted by SAFER Norway in 2020. She has six national and international publications to her credit.

Her special areas of interest are airway management, paediatric anaesthesia, regional anaesthesia, cardiopulmonary resuscitation and clinical simulation.

Dr Gaganjot Kaur did MBBS (2007) from sgrduhs, Amritsar and MD (2011) in Anaesthesia from DMC, Ludhiana. After senior residency at SMS, Jaipur and sgrduhs, she is presently Assistant Professor of Anaesthesia.

She is an AHA certified BLS /ACLS instructor and a Life Member of Indian Society of Anaesthesiology (ISA), Research Society of Anaesthesiology and Clinical Pharmacology (RSACP) and Airway Management Foundation. She has two publications in Indexed journals IJCCM and JOACP. She is currently working on a few research projects in the department.

Her special areas of interest are nerve blocks for acute postoperative pain and  obstetric anaesthesia.

Dr Harpreet Babrah did MBBS (2007) and MD (2013) in Anaesthesia from Government Medical College, Patiala. She joined sgrduhs as Senior Resident and is presently Assistant Professor of Anaesthesia.

She has a publication in IJAA journal. She is a member of ISSP.

Her special areas of interest are paediatric and regional anaesthesia.

Dr Sachreet Kaur did her MBBS (2008) from MGM Medical College, Kishanganj and  MD (2014) from MMU Ambala. She has worked as Consultant in critical care at Sterling hospital and Apex hospital (2014-15) and as Assistant Professor in UN Mehta Institute of Cardiac Sciences (2015-16), Senior Resident in Fortis Hospital Amritsar in 2017, and Senior Resident at GMC Amritsar in 2020. At present, she is Assistant Professor of Anaesthesiology at sgrduhs.

She had paper and poster presentations in NZISACON 2012 in DMC, Ludhiana. She has done  research on comparison of rocuronium and vecuronium for rapid sequence intubation in adults, and has 3 publications.

Dr. Abhishek Sharma did MBBS (2010) and MD Anaesthesia (2016) from IGMC, Shimla.  He did DM (2020) in Cardiac Anaesthesia from UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre, Ahmedabad, Gujarat. He was awarded a Gold medal for his academic performance. He is presently Assistant Professor of Anaesthesia at SGRDIMSR.

He has attended 7 national and international conferences as a delegate and delivered presentations on various topics. He has also attended a workshop on perioperative echocardiography at Narayana Hrudayalaya, Bangalore. He has authored and co-authored 5 national and international publications.

Dr Abhishek is a member of Indian Society of Anaesthesiology apart from Research Society of Anaesthesiology and Clinical Pharmacology.

He has special interest in cardiac critical care and perioperative 3D echocardiography.
