Dr AJS Bhanwer did MSc and PhD from Punjabi University, Patiala in Human Genetics. He is presently Head, Department of Genetics at SGRDIMSR.

He taught at Department of Human Genetics, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar from 1985-2020. He has executed several research projects by various funding agencies as UGC, CSIR, DST and DBT etc. During his stay at GNDU he has guided numerous MSc and MSc (Honours School) dissertations besides guiding 20 students for PhD degree. He has presented his research work at various National and International conferences.

Dr. Bhanwar is member of various societies viz Indian Science Congress Association, Indian Society of Human Genetics, Mitochondrial Society of India, ADNAT, Indian Immunology Society, Punjab Science Congress etc. He served as President of Indian Society of Human Genetics for two terms i.e. from 2015-2019.

His major area of interest is molecular genetics of complex disorders.

Dr Prabhjot Kaur Gill did PhD (2006) in Microbial Biotechnology from GNDU, Amritsar. She was a Postdoctoral fellow in Germany, 2007-9. She worked in the Regional Plant Quarantine station, Amritsar as Pathologist, 2012-13 and as Assistant Professor of Biotechnology at Eternal University, HP, 2013-15. She was at Centre for Interdisciplinary Biomedical Research, Adesh University, Bathinda, as Assistant Professor, 2015 and Associate Professor, 2017. Dr Gill is presently Professor of Genetics at SGRDIMSR since 2020. 

She published 35 peer reviewed research papers and four book chapters in International Journals/books in Biotechnology. She also published an international book in LAP Lambert Publishing press. She has participated in various workshops on Medical Genetics and Bioinformatics, Molecular biology, and Bioethics (CDSA) and has presented more than 25 research papers in national and international conferences. She is reviewer of national and international journals of Medical Sciences and Biotechnology.

Dr Gill is an external member in the Institutional Ethics Committee of Adesh University, Bathinda and PhD programme coordinator at SGRDUHS. Presently, she is working on the molecular diagnostics of clinically important diseases viz. typhoid, dermatophytosis, Cancer genes and protein profiling. She has supervised MSc dissertations and PhD thesis in Medical Biotechnology and Microbiology.

Her area of expertise includes synergistic use of proteomics, molecular, morphological, and culture-based methods in biotechnology and microbiology, and has special interest in the microorganisms for the synthesis of nanoparticles.

Dr. Simranpreet Kaur did BSc (Honours School) (2005) in Human Genetics,
and MSc (Honours School) (2007) in Human Genetics. She has completed her
Ph.D. in the stream of Medical Physiology with specialization in Human
Genetics under Faculty of Medical Sciences. She is presently, Assistant
Professor in Department of Genetics at SGRDIMSR. She is registered member of
Genetic Clinic, SGRDIMSR, under PCPNDT Act (GoI). She is a certified Level – II
Genetic Counsellor by Board of Genetic Counselling, India (BGCI).

She is well trained in Cytogenetic, molecular genetics techniques and ART
(Assisted Reproductive Technology). She has worked in various research labs
and ART clinics since 2008. She has worked as Clinical Research Coordinator in
BIRAC funded Diabetes project.  She has attended number of national and
international conferences and workshops in field of Human genetics &
Reproductive Genetics in India and abroad. She is a life member of BGCI &
ISHG. She has number of publications in the peer reviewed journals.
Her areas of interest in research includes Reproductive Genetics, Medical
Genetics, Cancer Genetics, Rare Diseases. Her area of specialization in Genetic
counselling includes Pre-natal and Infertility.

Dr. Inder Mohan S. Sandhu did BSc (Honours School) (2002) in the subject of Human Genetics, and MSc (Honours School) (2004) Human Genetics. He has completed his Ph.D. in the stream of Medical Anatomy with a specialization in Human Genetics under the Faculty of Medical Sciences. He completed PG diploma in Genetic Counselling skills & techniques from reputed international institute. He is presently working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Genetics at SGRDIMSR. Dr. Sandhu is registered Medical Geneticist at Genetic Clinic, SGRDIMSR, under PCPNDT Act (GoI). He is a certified Associate Genetic Counsellor by the Board of Genetic Counselling, India (BGCI).

He has many years of experience in molecular genetics and cytogenetic techniques and genetic counselling. He has worked as research associate, genetic consultant in various genetic laboratories, and ART clinics since 2005. He has attended number of national and international conferences and workshops in field of Human genetics & Medical Genetics in India and abroad. He is a life member of ISHG and BGCI. He has number of publications in the peer reviewed journals.

His areas of interest in research include Cancer Genetics, Medical Genetics, Developmental Genetics & Rare Diseases. His area of specialization in Genetic Counselling includes pre-natal, paediatrics and oncology.
