Department of Orthopaedics - Facilities
- Department of Orthopaedics Surgery provides a Comprehensive and integrated orthopaedic program for patients, students and residents.
- In addition department has a faculty which specializes in the field of trauma including hip, Pelvis, Spine fracture, Arthroscopy , Joint replacement , Spine surgery, Tumor resection and mega prosthesis and sports medicine. .
- Orthopedics department has three units with bed strength of 90.
- The department runs Post Graduate Course (M.S) in Orthopaedics with 5 seats each year.
- Library with 300 books with online access to multi national / international journals and e-books.
- Daily OPD with patient inflow of 200 per day with facilities for minor orthopaedics surgeries in OPD itself in addition to plaster application.
- Special OPD clinic like spine, hands and sports injuries are run by trained faculty.
- State of Art Operation theatre with Radiolucent O.T tables and latest C-Arm available in each O.T and emergency O.T and battery operated drill systems (Stryker).
- The Institute also has physiotherapy unit which works with orthopaedics department for the care of Patient. It has two sections (Physiotherapy & occupational Therapy) equipped with latest equipments to provide pre and post operative physiotherapeutic and intervention to O.P.D and indoor patients.
Surgery Performed
- 24 hours trauma services including Pelvis, acetabular and spine trauma.
- All adult reconstructive surgeries including hip, knee, shoulder replacement.
- Revision hip and knee surgeries.
- IIizarov technique for infected gap nonunion of long bones and Deformity correction, pediatric /adult limb lengthening.
